Bangkok is a constantly evolving metropolis, and what is a desirable area at the moment may be eclipsed by a new area a few years from now. While renters have the ability to move their homes to the area that suits their lifestyle the best, people looking for a house for sale in Bangkok have to be more careful about which area they are considering.

Gated or Non-gated Communities?

Many of the desired aspects of the home, like a gated community, or a large yard, may further limit your choice of area to live within the greater Bangkok region. Houses for sale in Bangkok within a gated community tend to be further from the city centre than non-gated homes. This is because the older gated communities closer to the city centre tend to be more valuable and are occupied by their long-term owners as their primary residence.

A house for sale in a gated community in Bangkok tends to be newer and demand a longer commute into a city workplace. This can have its advantages if commuting isn't an issue. These newer gated communities often have a more desirable infrastructure, with state of the art community fitness centres and swimming pools being part of the purchase price. They also can be in areas that provide easy access to international schools, new and modern shopping centres and malls, and hospitals.

These communities are geared towards the lifestyle of a young family. And they offer a pleasant alternative to the noise and bustle of the city.

Transportation Considerations

For those who view an easy commute into town as a requirement of buying a house for sale in Bangkok, the expansion of the two major public transit systems, the MRT and the BTS Skytrain, needs to be considered.

Both of these convenient and popular transit systems have been undergoing expansion for some years now. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the delay of this expansion. Buying a house for sale in Bangkok close to one of the stations along the lines of these transit systems would be advantageous for people who need to commute every day.

Unfortunately, these homes may be more expensive currently, and with no word on when the pandemic will end, it may be a while before you’re able to reap the benefits of such a convenient location.

Price of Entertainment

Being close to popular restaurants and entertainment areas can add to the cost and value of a house for sale in Bangkok. These areas often gain a favourable and long-lasting reputation. The area becomes known not for the businesses it offers, but as an entertainment area in general.

These are just some of the aspects that you should consider when looking for a house for sale in Bangkok. Choosing an experienced and trusted realtor can help you minimise the time and effort spent looking and get you into the perfect home for your needs and lifestyle quicker.
