The UK is fortunate to have a fantastic rail network. You can travel to almost any town by train, from the Scottish Highlands to the edge of Cornwall. The south of England is one of the most stunning regions in the UK. It has white sandy beaches, quaint villages, and several vibrant cities.

Hop on the train to the south of England and visit these fantastic destinations.

Bath

Bath is one of the most charming cities in the UK. You can wander around the picturesque town and admire the filming locations of the hit Netflix show, Bridgerton. Walk up to The Crescent to grab an Instagram picture before heading to dinner. Take a trip to the Roman Baths to learn all about the history of the thermal healing waters. They were pretty popular with the Victorians back in the day. Unfortunately, you can’t take a dip in the Roman Baths these days – but you can go next door to Thermae Bath Spa.

London

London is filled with popular attractions, stunning views and plenty of hidden spots. Take a few days to explore the UK’s capital and make a list of everything you want to see. London is enormous, and you won’t be able to do everything in one day. Prioritise the sites you want to see and book tickets in advance. You could see the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Tower of London or the Natural History Museum. It’s up to you!

Cambridge

Cambridge has charming cobbled streets and breath-taking architecture. The university town comes alive when the students return for term time. Take a campus tour to learn all about the university buildings, and indulge in an afternoon punting along the river.

Brighton

Head to the coast to Brighton for the quintessential British seaside town. You can play in the arcade on Brighton Pier before enjoying fish and chips on the pebbled beach. Take a dip in the sea if you’re feeling brave, or watch the sunset at the Royal Pavilion. The Brighton Lanes are filled with independent shops, cafes and restaurants. You can shop all day and rest your feet while grabbing some delicious food at Cin Cin. Brighton has a wonderful atmosphere, and you might even spot some creative graffiti while wandering around.

Make the most out of the UK this year, and visit a few new places.
