Palma is a beloved resort destination for travelers looking to spend a holiday packed with sun, water activities, and sunny beaches. It’s situated in Majorca, Spain, but it’s a lot more than just beaches and sun, it offers a wide range of attractions, like Palma Aquarium, historical cathedrals, and a lot more. Learn what can you expect on a day of activities in Palma.

The capital city of Majorca is home to some of the best beaches in the world, with clear turquoise water and white sand, that welcome millions of visitors each year. Not only that, is where most of the action takes place, since it’s the capital you’ll find a ton of resorts, restaurants, coffee shops, and bars nestled within the city. If you want to know what to do in Majorca, there’s no better place than La Palma.

Whether you are looking for a holiday packed with water activities, like scuba diving and wakeboarding, or a relaxing vacation strolling around the city checking out historical buildings, Palma sure has something for you.

Do a City Tour!

One of the best ways to hit your vacation is a tour, and in Palma, you can choose from a wide range of tours.

You can just stroll around the city visiting interesting sights and attractions like Palma Aquarium, where you will learn the ins and out of the marine life of the Mediterranean, and check out some amazing sea creatures. Next, you can head to the Catedral-Basílica de Santa María de Mallorca, which is a stunning building and the main cathedral of the island that dates back to the year 1200.

Another option, in which you can check out more of the city in a different style is the buggy tours, you’ll be able to discover a different side of the city, hitting rural roads and discovering stunning beaches.

Beach Hopping

Of course, could not be a holiday in Palma without checking out some of the most amazing beaches it has to offer and you don’t really need to go that far for incredible beach.

Near Palma you’ll find, Platja de Can Pere Antoni, probably one of the most popular and closes beaches you will find. Clearwater and wide sand that can get packed with tourists, it has nice bike paths and walking paths, and the area is really spacious and big.

Not so far away, at only 15min from the city center, you’ll find Cala Major, another popular beach with stunning calm and clear water.

Go for a Hike

Palma is surrounded by incredible national parks, small towns, and breathtaking landscapes. This is the perfect recipe for incredible hikes, and there’s no better example than the Club Náutico de Cala Gamba - des Portixol route, an 8km coastal hike that starts at the outskirts of the city and takes you all the way to Club Náutico des Portixol, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink on a bar.

Another great hike, more green, is the Coll de Son Marill. a 5.5 km loop hike that’s located near the city in a popular area for outdoor activities. This trail offers incredible sights like Cueva del Pilar and stunning views of the sea.
