With Christmas just around the corner, households across the country will soon be picking out (and decorating) their perfect tree. But where in the UK is home to the most affordable festive pines?

To find out, Betway has collected data from over 100 Christmas tree suppliers to reveal the cheapest, and most expensive, cities to buy a real Christmas tree this year. They have then delved deeper to reveal whether a traditional tree is more, or less, cost-effective than buying an artificial tree.

Real Christmas trees can cost up to 254% less than an artificial one, but over a 10 year period Brits can save £348.65 with a fake tree

With an artificial 6ft Nordman Fir Christmas tree costing an average of £190.95, and a real version of this tree averaging £53.96 from Christmas tree farms around the UK, Brits can save up to 254% by purchasing a real Christmas tree this year.

However, research shows that Brits tend to keep their artificial Christmas trees for a decade on average, which means they could save around £348.65 by not purchasing a real Christmas tree for the next 10 years.
